If you travel with a laptop or smart phone, you could verify your Scangauge accuracies by using one of these OBDII bluetooth transmitters. IIRC, there's one made for Iphone, too.
Using the transmitter, you're getting the data off the vehicle's management chips with no interpolation from the Scangauge.
