Sears & Roebuck Alert

Sad so sad. Read the story. I've got lots of 30-40 year old Sears tools and power tools. Bought out first frig from Sears in 1975. Had to get the dear mother in law to cosign for the credit card. Haven't been in a Sears store in many years. The most valuable part of the Sears holdings is probably their replacement part business. Bought some parts for a 15 year old snow blower from them last year.

Yes, I'm aware that Kenmores have always been rebranded products. But they used to be GOOD rebranded products. The point remains, my daughter got two Kenmore washers that both failed almost immediately. She is still using her Samsung and is more than happy with it.

I disagree, Don. It's just a sign of the times....the internet mostly....no more department stores. Walmart is adjusting too.

Back in the day . . . We used to take the BIG Sears catalog and circle the stuff we wanted Santa to bring for Christmas... fast forward a few years, Sears was the EASY card to get with no credit..

We were able to get our first Credit Card at 16 thanks to Sears and start building our credit.

Then on top of that, having the name Craftsman on any tool was the next best thing other than the name Snap On. . . .

I stopped caring about Sears and Kmart way back when they sold off the Willis Tower.

The store hasn't been called "Sears and Roebuck" for years.

Anyway....J.C. Penny will be next.

All of the Big Box stores have to deal with the internet. The computer shoppers look at the product at the store, then go home and buy it cheaper from Amazon and others. The UPS truck traffic around here has increased significantly.

I couldn't even find the right size Diehard when I was replacing one of the batteries in my truck. They were out and didn't know when they'd get any in.
