Someone in a cabin in next-to-nowhere Montana could order out of that catalog and get all sorts of things delivered
Oh so true - I lived in Central AFRICA from 1963 -> 1966, every year
we would get the Sears Catalogue from the American Embassy/Consul
(I think it was around Sept); We would spend DAYS browsing each
page and selecting our Christmas present.
No television in those days - so this was one of the highlights of
the year. I remember salivating over a red pedal car and dreaming
about it for months.
Sure enough there it was under the tree on the 25th Dec.
(not sure on how it got to our house but Sears never let us down)
Always had a soft spot for Sears - shame where they are now.
