Second Non-Ducted AC Question
I installed a new second 13.5 Dometic non-ducted AC on my Salem in our bedroom. We like running it at night because A: it drowns out all outside noises B: I like sleeping with the room being very cool (plus my 6 month pregnant wife demands it!). I was noticed with the thermostat turned down to about 68 the compressor kicks on and off but the fan runs all the time. Which is great for constant noise, but the humidity level spikes really high when the compressor is off which is noticeable in the room. I bought a small thermometer at Lowes that show humidity levels so I can monitor it and at one point it showed 95% humidity early in the morning. Also when the fan only is running, we can smell stuff from outside like my neighbors campfire. The smells go away when the compressor kicks back on. My question is does the unit draw in air from outside when the unit reaches temp setting? I read the instructions and it states that it is "circulating air" but it does not say from where. I emailed Dometic which was useless. They said I should take it to a certified dealer to have it inspected. Easier said than done with a 42' park model.
