Securing TV on the road

Just mounted a 32'' tv in the entertainment center of my Jayco 26BHS. I used the ultra-slim tilt and swivel wall mount bracket from monoprice, and it gives the exact positioning of the television that we wanted. I am not interested in removing this TV each time we travel. What I would like to know is how to you secure your TV when you travel. There is some side to side movement with the mount. I am not concerned about it articulating out, but would like to minimize the shaking (it will get enough just going down the road!). Thanks for any suggestions!

  • I use velcro straps. I had to screw them into the wall and they come around to the front of the tv and velcro together. I thought I would find something off-the-shelf at home depot but had to kind of rig it together with the velcro. It works and looks decent. I didn't have time to search the web -- I needed something that day.
  • I use a simple strap like described above. No probs since 2010.
  • I use 2 bungee cords, one at each end of the TV and around the arms of the mount. My two slides come in and cover most of the TV so I also place a large pillow in front of the TV, just in case. So far, so good. I think I will look at the strap idea. My bungees are the flat type.
  • I also use a strap. I put the TV against the wall and pull the strap tight. Doesn't move at all and haven't had a problem in thousands of miles.
  • I made a strap from 3/4" nylon webbing & QD buckles. It's secured to the wall on each side of the TV with large "D"-ring picture hangers.
