A number of years back a friend of the family thought about giving up his business because of the number and quantum of lawsuits claiming product defect and negligence.
He consulted a lawyer, said lawyers advice was simple, triple the sale price.
Put 1/3rd the money into a kitty to pay out lawsuits to go away, 1/3rd to cover the cost of the first category, and 1/3rd for the price of his product itself.
The end result? He's making more money than ever!!!
I'm pretty sure this chain is no different, given the price of it.
