Aha! Says honorable Charlie Chan...
"Busier than one-eyed cat watching three mouse holes"
Big-noses going to re-invent wheel and improve product. One of my improvements is a two dollar bi-directional 180 volt avalanche rectifier that solders any-old-way across the incoming neutral and phase input. Say goodbye to transients and component degradation - this is a PIECE OF CAKE installation since the connectors are exposed.
A .47uf 100 V electrolytic across the output potential should tame some of the ripple.
I was working on my case fabrication until I dropped a glob of molten solder on my big toe. how was I to know I was going to sneeze. Anyway, the shottkey rectifier is now mounted to a 3" X 7" 16 ga aluminum plate. Plastic standoffs to be used to hang from the inside of the roof of the monster.
Next step: Finding that dratted DPDT 26 amp rocker switch. Then a dedicated LED meter and ON-ON switch to select between the 2 outputs to balance the voltages. The finals ammeter - voltmeter is coming next week by burro. Four hour spring wound Intermatic Timer. Relay to NC the float charger. Lots of room for a third CHEAPOWATT. The 300 watt DC to DC converter goes in, set to 16.0 volts. This thing could equalize Mena's L-16's and not even stop yawning. Did I mention the piezo squawker? When the intermatic timer goes to zero a Radio Shack grade doorway greeter is fed from a 1,500 uf cap. Should be good for a dozen annoying electronic ding-dongs.
Ammobox charger never did have any life to the name.
Naw!
This thing....well, it's, it's a...........
