What happened to the built-in genny (Onan?) that used to be in it??
If some of your 12V batteries are now where the built-in genny used to be, you might want to reduce your battery count enough so as to be able to reinstall a genny back into the compartment.
Remember that a built-in genny can do more than run microwaves, air conditioners, coffee pots, and power tools longer than inverters can ... it can also run a couple of 1500 watt heating devices for doing things such as heating the interior additionally and unthawing, or keeping warm, pipes and tanks.
IMHO, there is no substitute for the convenience, versatility, and sometimes personal safety of a built-in genny powered from the same large capacity fuel tank as the motorhome engine.
Our Class C's built-in Onan generator is a priceless piece of RV equipment ... and would remain so even if we had a bunch of solar or fuel cell capacity on board.
