I know he has a solar system. As far North as he is going to be and as much battery capacity derate he is going to have with the temperatures he says he is going to be in plus the uncertainty of available sun light all together says to me depending on solar to make his plan work doesn't sound like much of a plan at all.
When he says NO generator No Mr Heater I question that there is really a plan.
What he is proposing to do is going to be VERY difficult. I hope for his sake it works.

It won't matter how many days your solar system has to recharge your batteries while you are not using it. If it is cloudy when you go to use it you will most likely have a battery bank down to 50% SOC in two days UNLESS you have another source of power either shore power or a generator.
