The key to Dons boondocking is electrical power. Solve that then see if any additional heat is required. So based on what he's posted:
1. Add 3 250W solar panels, flat mounted above the ACs and a MS MPPT 60 controller.
2. Allow for the addition of a 4th panel and second controller. Sell the existing inadequate solar setup.
Since solar doesn't work when it's snowing:
3. Larger alternator - at least 100A for the batteries plus say 50A for the house, maybe even larger. Not clear how much driving/day Don will do but even 1 hour with 100A charge and 50A for house heat will help.
4. Shore power.
5. The gen Don doesn't want. Rethink this. Mount it on a front hitch in a box heated by 12V heaters and an extension of the engine heater. Run the engine hot water lines to a second heater for the gen.
6. Or find a gen that will start and run at low temps.
