Right these fuel powered heaters are very efficient. There are models that transfer heat through coolant, and others via air. I think one of these is the most practical solution when going beyond resistance and propane heat. Fuel is expensive, but readily available, and not expensive per BTU when used in a modern fuel-fired furnace of one type or another.
