Service Now or Later ?

Question

I had my coach completely serviced in early May, 2014, including the Onan and transmission. Then we took a little four month drive to Nova Scotia and back. A lot of miles and a lot of hours on the Onan.   Is it best to do the annual service NOW, after returning, OR, wait and do the service in early May next year when we leave again for four or five months ?  While parked, I just start it up now and then and do run the Onan some each month. Advice appreciated.

Always store with fresh oil and no sludge.

Go by the book.  What was the trip 6,000 miles, maybe 8,000 with detours?My truck I would wait until AFTER the next trip.
