I understand that each panel has its own amps output and in series you use the lowest one.
Each panel also has its own Voc lying there in the sun. I don't understand how the voltage to be added just happens to be each panel's Vmp. Why that particular voltage?
With PWM, panel voltage is battery voltage on pass through voltage. Nothing to do with Vmp. With a single panel and MPPT in Bulk, panel voltage is its rated Vmp as found ( and set?) by the controller.
But the controller can't tell what the Vmp is for each different panel in series (supposedly), so howinheck can each different panel be at its Vmp and you just add them up? It's magic!
