should the motor coolant be two colours?

our ford engine uses motorcraft premium gold engine coolant.
it has not been used much this year - just going to repairs etc.
and we noticed the coolant had 2 colours top and bottom of the reservoir.
is this normal?
time to have it changed?
sadly the RV wont be used til next year but it will soon go in for an oil change etc so we could have it done then.
thanks all

Have you had the transmission and rear end fluids ever changed or the brake fluid?

    yes

Then you should be good with the gold. I'll agree with Tracking; time to change.

  • Some of the newer anti freeze label states that it can be used with either color. Just assuming if you had green in the radiator and someone added anti freeze, orange could have been added. The newer stuff on the market I have seen has been orange. I would check with your garage mechanic.

  • The coolant reservoir is probably stained. Change the coolant and keep on trucking.
