Simple To Understand 7-Day Timer

Again I was asked to go six miles and reprogram 7-day timer used to control an electric water heater.

Help! Any ideas for an 1, 875 watt 120vac 7-day box that a 79-year old gringo and wife can understand? They have an 8x11 sheet of instructions with ten thousand tiny words printed on it...
  • Does it need a different timer setting for each day? I've never seen one that could handle that load. If they only need 1 setting, then something like this Intermatic would work. We use one on our 2 HP pool pump. It will handle up to 40 amps. It's pretty simple to program. It comes with 2 start triggers and 2 stop triggers, but more can be bought to stop it and start it multiple times a day.

I've used one of these by Intermatic. These allow 7 day programming, but are only good for medium duty, about 12 AMPs. Probably not heavy duty enough for a hot water heater.
