sounds like your operating at a net loss
i could see using power at night and charging during the day
( we have doing the same thing for years )
but if you are sucking power off that during the day, you are in a no gain down ward loss, killing your batteries
but with only 17+amps charge capacity
it seems your power use "desires" exceed your recharge capacity
