Sine Wave Inverter Cooling

Is there a 1000 watt sine wave inverter that has a large heat sink instead of relying so much on a fan for cooling? My experience tells me the fan will eventually quit at the worst possible time as Murphy is always at work. I'm using it as a dedicated refrigerator power source.

  • Computers have fans - good ones. They last for many years. Inverters have fans -not so good grade fans. A ball-bearing Pabst brushless fan may outlive your inverter, your rig and even you.
  • I have a Xantrex Prowatt 1000 and use it to run a fridge and the 120V entertainment gear. It may have a fan but it has never come on. The Xantrex is mounted in an interior cupboard with a mesh door. I have my two battery banks inside the trailer--18" to one bank and 6' to the other.

I had to check out the Prowatt SW literature to see if mine had a fan, it does.
