Thé guy quoting me for the Rolls batteries (12v 210 ah @ 20h) gave me a per unit price of $299 cad, was pleasantly surprised given the reputation Rolls has. Hmm...

Hmmmm indeed, sounds fishy to me considering that's dealer cost for a Deka Group 31 AGM here in Canada. Exactly what Rolls battery and is it brand new? :@

The dealer is TotalBattery, they have several outlets in Canada, it is a sale price and they are new (Rolls 12FS 210) but they are wet cell as mentioned in earlier post, maybe that’s where the disconnect is. They recommended them to me over the Trojans because they were on sale (I was looking at the Trojan J185H-AC).
Just keep in mind that Trojan batteries have very specific
charging requirements that may not apply to other brands, particularly a bulk charge voltage of 14.82 volts for one of their 12 volters, including the J185H-AC. Unfortunately not many converter / chargers are capable so the question then becomes how are you going to properly maintain a battery you're investing so much in? This Trojan being a flooded battery explains why your quoted price is so good, an AGM with that capacity here in Canada would be twice that
and you'd want to be even more careful about how you're going to recharge it, including the
requirement by some manufacturers for temperature compensated charging which almost all trailer converter / chargers are incapable of.
