RV is set up already for two banks. Having just one bank would be a bit of a pain to wire in a balanced manner. It could, of course, be done. However it would not make much, if any, improvement.
I would need to upgrade the disconnect switch for the inverter. I would have to dramatically increase wire size. I would have to add a "wiring tunnel" between two compartments. This would need to be water proofed.
At 20 amps for six jars, it would exceed the charging capacity of the Magnum inverter/charger.
I'm sure there are other changes I would need to consider.
I will be float charging them between trips. The solar system is tiny by today's standards, but it was what I could afford at the time.
The reason for the large bank is to allow me to run without a generator for long periods of time, and have the RV behave as if it were on shore power. Then between trips the solar can fill the batteries back up. I'll have about 7 kwh of storage, about the same as a Tesla Power Wall.
