Slide creeps out

While I don't have a motorhome, I deal with hydraulics every day here on the farm. Sounds to me like you have a 'leakdown' issue. Either a faulty (leaking valve) or you have entrained air in the system. Both will cause cylinder creep.

Do you have a way to physically lock the slide in?

Where will I find the solonoid valve? I have read alot and I do think that is the issue.

check your owner’s manual. on our previous gas MH they were up front in the engine compartment.

I have the HWH hydraulic slides, Living Room and Bedroom and the BR slide did the same thing to me.

Brought it into Winnebago factory service just a couple days ago and they changed out 2 hydraulic solenoids to fix that problem, telling me that's what was needed to fix it. I'd heard the same thing from others here on the forum...that 2 solenoids had to be replaced.

Cost was $172 each for the solenoids and 1.7 hours labor for $221. So total of $565.

The Winnebago P/N 131306-12-702 just in case you need it. The manufacturer of your slide system would have there own P/N I'm sure and it would likely be different.

Could also be a bypass leak in a piston....in other words, no exterior leak but the pressure leaks down internally.

The problem is figuring out the leak is...check with the system manufacturer or rv manufacturer for troubleshooting recommendations.

I found that many rv mechanics have no clue about hydraulics, so find a good independent!

My personal observation would be to take it to a agricultral implement dealer. They know hydraulics, they deal with them everyday and hydraulics are hydraulics whether it's a motor home or a dump truck or a hydraulically actuated farm implement. All the same principles at work

A simple trick that may help and save some time and money: HWH on their web site says to hold the extend or retract button for at least 3 seconds and no more than 10 seconds after the slide stops. That is to make sure that the lines are charged. If they are not charged the slide may creep.

Many of us interpret this as "hold until you hear the pump start to load up". Don't see anything positive by pressurizing past that point.

Thanks for your suggestions...will see what I can find when I get it out of storage for the next trip.
