slide gasket adhesive

Question

What type of adhesive is used to secure the overhead slide gaskets?

The specific gasket I refer to is the top interior one attached to a metal channel. I have a new gasket, but wonder about adhesives or sprays.

Something that will bond with the metal and material of the gasket.

I have used and would use 3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive. Part # 08008 Most auto parts stock it.

You appear to have a Jayco. I have NEVER had to use any Adhesive on a Jayco RV slide seal install. They either come with the adhesive tape on the gasket already or the seal has the Metal fingers to grip the slide flange. Also, the Schwintek type slide seal uses a track that the seal slides in and out of. Are you using the Jayco OEM seals?  Doug
