Update,
The slide awning in question, is the Carefree type, has the 1" curved tubes on each end about a foot tall that supports the center tube.
The awning fabric, is quite a bit longer than just a topper cover. It can be extended even more once the slide is out completely & then pulled out to create window awning.
While doing some more searching on the net, was a member with another H/R & he made note that the topper could be removed, about 3" of the fabric cut off & then the rib sewn back in place & awning installed back onto the coach.
That Tough Top fabric reads like some good stuff, I may just replace the awning fabric all together instead of trying to repair & re-use the old one.
