slideout room doesn't stay closed

Our 2004 Winnebago Brave 34 ft. motorhome has two slideouts. It's the large living room/dining room slide that's giving us the problem. It closes normally, but recently we noticed that after a while, it opens up a little. The gap was barely noticeable at first...but today when I came home from work the slide had opened about 3 inches, and it's just sitting, leveled, parked in the driveway.
  • If it is a hydraulic operated slide then you have a solenoid that is leaking back to reservoir (hydraulic pressure keeps them open or closed depending on which side of piston has pressure)

If it is electrically operated then the clutch/brake system is out of adjustment or is worn out.
  • make a set of slide locks..measure the distance between the front of the slide and the side wall of the camper. Cut a 2x4 that size and place in the space on both ends of the slide and it will keep the slide from going out..
  • This same problem was just discussed in another post. Look for it for answers to your problem also.
  • My Winnebago came with a strap to hold the slide in. I have never needed it, but I still have it.
