Got it.
The Canadian Tire store had an additional in-store $5 off, plus ~$8 CanTire money so Can$187 (~US$156) + tax for 1000W PSW inverter with remote on/off. And 2yr warranty that can be claimed at any CanTire store.
Manual says it can run for 5min at 1100W before needing to turn off for a 15min cool down. Not sure if that's automatic or you need to turn it off yourself. No idea how long the 2000W surge is sustainable. But from BFL's experience think I'll just try to avoid all overloads.
Really like the remote; it's a little panel with a push button and 20' cord. Also like the Heavy Duty 12VDC lugs. A no-load current draw of 0.6A is not too bad, especially as it will easy to turn off/on.
But the inverter claims only 85% efficiency. And it has two (2!) fans so has the potential to be quite noisy. Will put it in the pass-thru close to the batteries, and run the on/off remote cable and 110V wiring underneath (in the trailer's basement probably) to some place close to the kitchen (Rear kitchen trailers are at a disadvantage here, being so far from the batteries).
Was thinking more flexible extension cord 110V wiring would be best for this?
And I'll just plug a standard 110V connector into one of the inverter's sockets; or would it be *much* better to open it up and directly wire it in (and void the warranty)?
