Not really sure what "size the fuse to the wire" means.
Say #6 cable is 4' each for + and - leads, totalling 8'.
Inverter could draw 92A at 1100W for 5 min at 12V.
92A at 12V would cause a voltage drop of 2.5% (0.29)
A 100A fuse would allow 2.7% voltage drop over a long period.
But a 2000W Surge could have 167A and a 4.5% voltage drop, and the 100A fuse would allow that for a short time before blowing.
Is that safe?
