That kinda made my brain hurt.
Under wiring or over fusing anything is a recipe for disaster.
We are talking about two issues, which are related to eachother, but are two distinct issues.
#1 Amp capacity of a wire of a given gauge,
and
#2 Voltage drop based on distance/gauge/amp's being used.
The wiring isn't limiting the amps at all. 22 gauge wire will let 100 amps go thru it. What happens is the wire melts, and things spark, and stuff burns. The pos line WILL melt its insulation and find a ground somewhere.. and SPARK.
The voltage cutoff on the inverter 'should' and most probably would work. What if it doesn't. You have xxx amps being drawn on an underrated wire.
