Thanks. I always thought that Randy's notion there was in conflict with everything else you read about battery fuses.
Here's another thing I wonder about. The rule is to not use too big a fuse on the wire for its AWG, but the scenario for the battery fuse is about the battery supplying the current.
Since that current would be huge AFAIK, it would overwhelm any fuse, so what difference would it make if the wire is too small for that fuse? Wouldn't the fuse melt before the wire did even if it were a 100a fuse on a #8 wire for instance?
I can see how a 90a current would not melt the 100a fuse but would the #8 wire, but I suppose any current from the battery would be way over 100?
I don't know the answer, but I just wonder about that, so I thought to ask it here since we are on that kind of subject and the experts are here.
