I was going by the socket in an RV Winegard TV panel, which is on thin wire and rated for 96w/8 amps and a 10 amp fuse (at least that was how it was in the 2003 5er we had.)
Don't know about actual cigarette lighter sockets in a dashboard. They are on the engine battery if that matters.
