Right! For every difficult question there's always a simple solution that doesn't work.

Our fan does vent to the atmosphere. But it's an "elcheapo" and is, what, maybe 60% effective?

I can take care of myself. I don't need lawyers, insurance companies and the government to take care of me. Give me the &*#@ on/off switch.

And while "You" are at it, give me back a toilet that flushes, a washing machine that washes, a light bulb that lights...Oh well, end of rant.

Absolutely.

Mine is located just inside the door. It often goes off when I use the grill ouside and the breeze is blowing toward the door. I learned to close the door.

I would rather have it go off a dozen times falsly than NOT go off once.

I guess you all have a MUCH better fan than our rig has. The one at home cost around $1200. The camper's, maybe $25?? Do you really think I didn't have it turned on? :@

An on/off switch would be more likely to get turned back on than some other methods, like leaving it under the blanket where it has been since breakfast! :S

But the bowl cover idea is outstanding! :D

In most RV's over the stove is a hood and fan.. Activate first, (this should cover cooking) alas, hair spray et-al is another issue.

Cooking ain't the problem. Sucking the DW out of the rig before she hoses it with olfactory overload seems to be the issue. Takes a pretty good size fan to do that, I think...

Done it so much/so long it is just habit.

The OFF part is very important!!!

There is where I got the Idea from, part of the memory still works...
