Snip-the-tip mod for Dometic fridge

We are thinking of installing the "Snip-the tip" mod on our Dometic NDR1062 fridge This is where the thermistor end that attaches to the inside fins of the fridge is cut off and replaced with the item shown in the previous link. It reportedly will allow for a lower temp adjustment. Has anyone that has a Dometic fridge used this and if so, were the temp adjustments done by the original controls on the front of the fridge or by slightly turning the control knob on the snip device?.http://www.snip-the-tip.com/cgi-bin/articca.cgi

  • The 'Snip-The-Tip' Thermistor repair kit is so that you don't have to pull new wiring in order to replace a faulty thermistor.

OEM thermistor could be moved up/down to affect fridge section temps on fridges that have a preset temp controller.

The replacement kit goes on the side wall (vs fin) and has a control knob.

The KIT is a good replacement..quick/easy and works.....for a faulty thermistor.

You will still control overall temp setting via front control panel on your model.
