Thanks fellows, I believe this circuit is actually on a 20 amp breaker, which I realise who ever did it was wrong, as it only looks like 14 gauge wiring, so that is not to code, was going to try hook up a 30 amp circuit from garage, but it is too far away.
I do have a 3500 or so generator, but I guess due to my lack of maintenance it flooded and leaked fuel all over, so have to fix it, then I could try it right from it, and hopefully get full power.
