Bob, you had better go back to High School and take a physics class. Energy is required to do anything. It takes energy to remove heat from air, it takes energy to condense water vapor into water. The more energy an air conditioner uses to condense water vapor the less energy it has to remove heat from the air. It requires much more energy to cool (or heat) humid air than dry air.
By the way the use of the word "precipitate" could be OK. Per Wikipedia; In meteorology, precipitation is any product of the condensation of atmospheric water vapour that falls under gravity. The condensate certainly falls under gravity.
