Again, thanks to everyone for posting. It's been happening with two different propanes from two different places so I don't think it's someone trying to pass off butane. But it definitely could be moisture in the tanks since the tanks have remained the same.
So I'm going to replace the regulator as someone suggested and see if that does it.
Once the tanks are empty was I correct in assuming that I just leave the valve open for a few days to let them dry out?
I'll also start checking into the flow preventers angle.
