As far as the battery goes this trailer has been parked and plugged into city power for a year now. I'm pretty sure the battery would be deader than dead but just the same I charged it (not that it appeared to even hold a charge) and put it back.

I sent this photo to a guy locally to see if he can repair this for me. If it's too much I may just do it myself. My luck with getting replacement parts so far has been awful though.

In the meantime I agree I can definitely clean up the corrosion and try to get the make/model off of it. Funny thing I hit it with a screw driver and my LP started working again. Solenoid is a solenoid is a solenoid. I here VW bugs used to have a similar problem with theirs.

If you can tap it with a screw driver and your LP works, that means the solenoid is sticking in the off position until the smack of the screwdriver frees up the mechanism to overcome the debris inside or you have an intermittent wiring connection problem. Just from the previous pictures, repairing the connections would be the first thing. That may deliver enough power to overcome the ickiness in the solenoid. You could also service the solenoid by removing the outer case and cleaning the innards. With that tape around everything, it is probably holding moisture in the solenoid and promoting corrosion.

You can take a look at Solenoid Solutions to see how your solenoid valve operates. Yours is a two position, normally closed and must be rated for LP gas. Good luck.
