About the yellow tape, my propane supplier did some work for me a few months ago, and used white tape on 3/4" pipe. Armed with what I've read on this forum I jumped all over him for not using the yellow tape. His response is that they use the yellow tape on larger pipes but it's too thick for the small pipes and it's the same stuff anyway. Just passing on what the propane company does, I personally know nothing about the materials the different tapes are made of.
