Out dry camping in the middle of nowhere (well almost) and I noticed my Dometic RM 2862 not holding it temperature. So I go take a look in back and I see the telltale yellow powder residue around the propane burner (had it running on gas all weekend).
Anyway, so I'm assuming it's shot.
So my predicament is a big weeklong trip planned over the upcoming holiday and I need to find the best way to replace it.
Should I just buy a whole new unit?
Are these as good as those "Amish" made units?
I'm in the Milwaukee area what would be the quickest way to find a replacement?
I'm pretty sure I can install it myself.
Any input is well appreciated.
I doubt you are going to get the fridge replaced or repaired by the holiday weekend.. Considering the 4th is the Monday after this upcoming week.. Just not enough time to order, wait for it and install it whether it is a new fridge or a cooling unit.
All you can do is call one of your local dealers or contact a few Internet sources and see if they can "expedite" the shipment to say two day delivery (that IS going to cost dearly) and IF you are lucky you might have one say by Wednesday at the earliest..
Personally, you might need to fall back to a ice chest.. You can also use your fridge like a ice Chest, just freeze a bunch of bottles of water.. The bigger the bottle the longer the ice will stay..
