  • Read and understand the entire paper. These batteries are far from commercial use so far. Basic conclusion by author .. more research and development needed if this chemistry is to compete with Lithium based batteries.

    FWIW (on a lighter note!), when my boy was just a young’ien we once made a battery out of a Lemon, a nickel and a copper penny…We never evaluated it in cold weather (or for it’s Peukert), but as I recall, it’s voltage curve faded fairly fast, and shortly thereafter it succumbed to a Low voltage disconnect - lol…:)

  • Thanks for the post Don, I'd like to see a good cold weather battery for -70F. I looked at your attachment, but way too complicated for my little mind. I'll wait for others to decipher it.
