If anything will save us it will be R&D.

they have been in development since 2009 ish, maybe before then nd are being used in Japan and other places but have some issues that make them pretty much un usable for us.

FWIW (on a lighter note!), when my boy was just a young’ien we once made a battery out of a Lemon, a nickel and a copper penny…We never evaluated it in cold weather (or for it’s Peukert), but as I recall, it’s voltage curve faded fairly fast, and shortly thereafter it succumbed to a Low voltage disconnect - lol…:)

Thanks for the post Don, I'd like to see a good cold weather battery for -70F. I looked at your attachment, but way too complicated for my little mind. I'll wait for others to decipher it.

Interesting!…Would be a good thing - no doubt there’s waaaay more salt on the earth than Lithium!!…Makes me wonder if it has similar characteristics as SiO2?.
