Soft start question

I see there are tons of you tube video's on easy soft starters, I may not even know enough to ask my question right but here goes
On our TT an houseboat we use the Honda 2K,
Is there such a thing as an inline soft starter that can be simply pluged into my power cord between the Honda an TT or Houseboat?

    Maybe here

This works well according to everything I have read, but it is not "plugged into my power cord." You install it inside the air conditioner. It has 3 wires that you plug in to existing elements on the air conditioner, and 1 wire of the air conditioner that you remove and wire to the Easy Start instead.

I have been studying this device because if we decide to buy a generator for our TT, I am going to buy this also.
