I chuckled with the same thought earlier haha... I really think they are a HOUSE SOLAR SYSTEM company first and trying to get into the RV MARKET perhaps...

By the way, I don't think I'd be wanting to call my company SOL. :)

I would never recommend a 1,500 watt inverter- even though I have one in my motorhome. I rarely use that inverter, because it draws about 3 amp hours just to have it on. So while watching TV, and running the satellite dish, VCR or whatever, it might be using a total of 8 or 9 amp hours. If I changed to a 150 watt inverter, it would only draw about 4-5 amp hours. Saving 4 amp hours per hour of watching TV is very important with limited battery power, and my desire to watch TV about 8 hours per day.

I could go through about 120 amp hours in 24 hours. My 415 watt solar system made up for all this power. Any more power, and I could run the generator. In the morning worked best, as the charger will put out more amperage to the nearly dead battery bank than to one 90% full.

at 50% full, my charger can put out 45 amps per hour. At 80% full, I would be lucky to get 20 amps out of the charger.

The solar system normally put out about 22 - 25 amps around noon, a little more if the battery was low, and less amps as the battery became full.

SunElec.com sells panels for $1 - $2 per rated watt.

You really don't want a 290 watt panel on a RV roof, they are way to large. More than about 10 square feet, and the uplift on the panel at 70 MPH can be really high. I have 120 watt panels, and think that is about what you can fit around the air conditioners, and still be able to put a couple of them on the roof, and still have space to walk past them to repair the roof and other maintenance, as well as clean the solar panels and front cap of the roof.

Check the panel measurements before buying anything. Take a large piece of cardboard up there, and see where you can put the panels. Make sure that you are about 6" from the A/C unit so it will not cast a shadow on the panels. Same with the antenna, and roof vents.

I put my pair of panels about 12" back from the front cap, and they will whistle while driving down the freeway. It is not nearly as noisy as the engine, but still adds to the overall noise in the RV.

You can make solar mounts yourself from 6" long 2" angle aluminum (home Depot) and get the #10 UV rated direct burial wire there too (grey romex). It can run down the refrigerator vent, to the controller, then to the batteries.

I'm kinda interested on how the 24 VOLT DC SOLAR system batteries shown here would integrate with the RV Converter/Charger 12VDC Battery system.

Sort of sounds like this is a 120VAC 1500WATT stand-alone system that is only used for generating 120VAC using solar panels as the source of energy.

I'm guessing all of your 12VDC APPLIANCE like LIGHTs, BLOWER MOTOR, FANs, etc would remain connected to your RV 12VDC Battery system configuration when the SOL SOLAR system is being used..

My RV converter/charger unit alone pulls right at 120VAC at 1000WATTs by itself which would only leave some 500WATTs left for other 120VAC items you have in the RV setup

I'm probably missing something here on the SOL 24VDC SOLAR CONCEPT...
