As long as they are working. Poor parts, poor soldering, poor something else, and after peak modes or after day-night temperature fluctuations (like 24C difference in desert areas) - ops - it's not working anymore. No big deal, it goes to dumpster, thanks God there is enough room on the planet for that, and enough resources for the next few years, so we go and get another piece of, er, "Chinese ingenuity" :) ...

The price difference between "cheap Chinese" and not-so-cheap Chinese-made 10A controller from known brands is $30-40. If this is "tons of money" - well, sorry. And, there isn't going to be any fancy features in the latter, either. Fancy stuff would cost more.
