Solar Controller (Get What You Pay For?)

Hard to keep from getting ripped off. Comcast started charging everyone $8 a month for modem rental. I found a refurbished one that was identical for $12. Think of the money those Thieves were getting.

Only real way to tell if it is a true MPPT controller is to crack it open and look for the inductors.

I've seen a few YouTube videos of various no-name MPPT controllers, some were surprisingly good, others were in reality, just PWM controllers.

If I were sticking some panels on top of a carport where a dead controller wouldn't be that hard to toss and replace, I'd go with this. For a more "permanent" install where rewiring might be a pain (such as an RV), I'd probably ante up for the made in USA brands because of the difficulty in repairing once everything is in place.
