I don't know why any of that matters when your panel is 24V or higher. You MUST use MPPT or lose your amps/burn up your controller. And why use MPPT on a 12V panel? Sure you could wire your batteries for 24V and run PWM but then you need a DC-DC converter and a 24V regular converter. Might as well get a MPPT controller cause you haven't saved any money.
