I don't get the solar wake up advantage bit at all. Battery voltage at wake up can be anything 12.x. I get some amps starting as soon as it gets around Civil Twilight, but first needs to go above my standing draw of 0.3 to 0.8a to show pos charging on the Trimetric. I can't see how MPPT will make much diff there. Oh well. :(
Salvo, you answered in watts when I want an answer in amps.
Let's do it all at battery voltage of 13v so IV curve of the 12v panel is still allowing Isc. Also that helps the MPPT's cause from not going high in voltage.
Panel is 100w ( 17.5 Vmp x 5.7 Imp )
Isc 6.3a, Voc 21v
1. PWM case: Peak amps two times 6.3 = 12.6a x 13v = 164w nobody cares what the watts are since we are at max amps regardless. Except PT who gloats about all the watts going to waste. :)
So 200 - 164 = 36 wasted watts 36/164 = 22% but actual gain was 8%
2. 12v, MPPT we have 17.5v vs 13v gets you one more amp at peak.
3. 24v MPPT we have 35v vs ? converted back to "12v" gets you ? amps
