Poly is more common term. Hard to tell why Kyocera calls it Multi, must be one of those "lost in translation" cases.
There isn't much gizmology in entering charging setpoints on controllers like Grape - or some MPPT with built-in display, for that matter. You only do this once (I already hear Mexicowonderer violently disagreeing with auto-pilot style of charging, but let's not go there yet).
Then you tuck the display in the most obscure nook so that you won't see it often, because it is tempting to go and check how this darn thing is working - and it is just working :)
I do have concerns with (popular) trend of using touch-screen cell phones for monitoring solar controllers and other devices. They are very unreliable piece of equipment, not designed to last long.
