I'm lost, whether he is making series or parallel of 4*12V panels.

Y-splitters were purchased, sounds like parallel? No problem with DellCity fuses, then. He'll have only 18V input.

I would want (at least) gauge #8 cable from panels to controller, with this. MC4 extension cables thicker than #8 are mostly custom-made. It's so much easier to go series, #10 all the way, no beefy cables or roof junction box.
