This response from MS still does not answer my question about what the input V (ON) is during regulation say for a Vmp of 90V and batteries @ 14.6v set pt.
"Once you are in regulation(absorption and float) the controller no longer sweeps for the max power point. Once you are in regulation the controller basically becomes a PWM controller, although at a much higher frequency."
The response doesn't help
"Once you are in regulation you will likely see your solar voltage go near Voc. We control current to the battery in regulation by controlling how long our FET's remain open or closed."
No kidding, as OFF time increases a DVM reads higher and higher as OFF time is Voc and the DVM reads the ave over some time frame that is larger than the controller's on/off freq. Need an oscilloscope!
