My first trip out with solar. 448 watts with a Morningstar PWM TS 45 controller, worked perfectly. 7 days on the beach never once started the generator. My panels are flat on the roof and I didn't want to deal with the raising lowering game. With two kids charging their devices plus me and dw devices, tv on and wifi repeater running, water pump for showers, we drew down the 2-6volt Trojans the most was down to 75% remaining according to the trimetric battery meter. But eventually when the morning routine stopped and we were outside with almost nothing on in the TT, we charged to 100% by late afternoon. The battery meter actually started showing a charge beginning around 8 am and continued with the setting sun till around 4 pm. The trip was a success but I think I will be adding two more Trojans t125's to the front and perhaps another 200 watts on the roof. I did notice on one cloudy morning the charge was miniscule until the sun broke out. So the generator will always be part of our equipment.
