Solar dry-camp in a very cheap camp, fulltime, assuming no labor costs, and 90% living with no rain?
Compared to residential shore power - it will take several years fulltime.
Compared to an average hook-ups camp - less than a year.
Compared to generator fuel and maintenance (where you still have some camp fees) - same year or slightly longer, depending how often you run the genny.
Throw in 50% rainy weather into equation, and the picture is different.
Camp only few months a year, and break-even point is different again.
To me, this is not about getting return on 1.5 or 2K. This kind of money wouldn't change anything in my life. OTH, silence and clean air are invaluable.
