I am still learning what to do with my future solar panel plans...
What does adding the panels outputs in series gain you. Your solar panel controller than has to deal with a very high DC voltage which all gets converted down to smart mode DC Voltages (14.4VDC etc) when charging your batteries. I think the MPPT 60 can only accept a maximum of 48VDC. What happens if you exceed the 48VDC Input coming from the panels in high sun?
Perhaps it is easier for the solar controller to regulate at a constant smart mode DC voltage output with higher input DC voltage levels... When you place solar panels is series I know the DC VOLTAGE will increase - what does the DC current do... Does it also increase... I'm comparing this to two 6VDC 225AH batteries in series. You get 12VDC out of this but the AHs stays the same 225AHs.
My goal I think is to get as much current as possible at the smart mode DC charging voltages feeding the batteries to meet the 17-20AMPS per battery in the bank if I need to get them re-charged in a quick three hour high sun period.
I need to do some more reading I think hehe...
