In my professional opinion (35yrs as a sheet metal worker) I would not only beef up those 1/8" flat bar uprights, but would increase them to (at least) 6, instead of just 4. And mount them closer to the four corners plus in the middle of the longer sides.
And maybe just leave the existing roof mounts where they are, to avoid any potential leaks from removal and patching.
